What does ZimIoTix Innovations do?
We design, supply, install and support technology for buildings and homes in four areas: ICT networks, automation and building management, energy and power, and audio-visual systems.
How much does a smart system cost?
It depends on what you want and the size of the space, so we start with a conversation about your needs and budget. Tell us your budget and we will propose what fits within it.
Do I have to do my whole home or building at once?
No. You can start with what matters most, such as lighting, sound or security, and add more later. We plan the wiring and systems so that adding to them is simple.
Will it stop working if the internet goes down?
Good systems keep running locally. Internet is mainly needed for controlling things when you are away and for alerts on your phone. We will tell you upfront if any part of your system depends on it.
Can a smart system be hacked?
Any connected technology carries some risk, so we reduce it. We use established standards and brands, secure your network, set strong passwords and keep software up to date, and we show your people how to keep it that way.
Can you add smart systems to an existing building?
Yes. We often add automation, networks, energy monitoring and audio-visual to buildings already in use, with as little disruption as possible.
Can you work with our contractors and consultants?
Yes. We work alongside architects, developers, main contractors and engineering consultants, either directly for the owner or as a specialist subcontractor.
Can you help with energy savings and green building certification?
Yes. We carry out energy audits, install monitoring that shows where power goes, and support EDGE and LEED certification. Our director is an EDGE Expert, LEED Green Associate and Certified Energy Manager.
Can I just buy equipment from you?
Yes. We supply products with or without installation. Send us what you need on WhatsApp and we will send a price.
Do you provide maintenance after installation?
Yes. We offer scheduled maintenance and technical support with agreed response times, so your systems keep working as designed.
Do you work outside Uganda?
Yes. We work across East Africa, and have delivered a building management system in Kigali, Rwanda.
