Lighting that sets the scene at one touch
A DALI lighting management system for the Uganda Revenue Authority conference hall, with touch-panel scenes and occupancy sensors.
- DALIevery light individually addressed
- 6occupancy sensors saving energy
- 1 touchto switch the whole hall between scenes
Our roleLighting control design, programming and commissioning, as specialist subcontractor to R&K Engineering

The challenge
The URA conference hall hosts presentations, meetings and events, and each needs different lighting. Manual switching was slow and lights were often left on in empty parts of the hall.
What we did
We addressed and grouped every DALI luminaire in the hall and commissioned the lighting controller and its modules. We then programmed lighting scenes, such as a presentation mode with stage lights on and audience lights off, and put them on a simple touch panel. Six occupancy sensors switch lighting automatically when areas are empty.
The result
Staff change the whole hall's lighting with one touch, and the sensors stop energy being wasted in empty zones. The system was fully tested, commissioned and documented with as-built drawings.
